10 Ridiculous Wrestling Gimmicks That Should Never Have Worked
10. Bray Wyatt
Starting out with the most modern example on the list, the artist formerly known as Husky Harris paints a curious picture of how WWE present their product nowadays. The company are still PG and aimed largely towards young children, so when the character of Bray Wyatt landed on screens in 2013 he instantly came across as unique. Favouring dark, borderline-Satanic imagery - complete with goat masks and talk of cleansing a dirty world - Wyatt has been a revelation in his role as the psychotic mad-man. Spouting gibberish about saving us all and speaking cryptically about 'Sister Abigail', Wyatt is likely bloody terrifying to kids. That's perhaps why the character should have been doomed to failure, and in the hands of most other performers, it likely would be. Windham Rotunda is no ordinary performer however and it's a testament to how good he is that Bray Wyatt remains a huge part of WWE television.
