As one half of The Rougeau Brothers and Quebecers, Jacques Rougeau Jr. is a celebrated tag team wrestler who mustered three WWE Tag Team Title reigns throughout his career. He was a hugely effectively pro-Canadian heel who was never as vociferously anti-American as Lance Storm or Bret Hart, but great at drawing heat from the crowd, and an underrated technician between the ropes.

His most impressive spell came as The Mountie, which goes down as one of the daftest gimmick ideas in WWE history. A corrupt, cattle prod-wielding member of the Canadian Mountain Police, The Mountie wore a bright red jacket typical of his apparent second profession, and regularly used the cattle prod against opposition.

Debuting in 1991, The Mountie feuded with The Big Boss Man after declaring he was the company’s sole legitimate law enforcer, and became Intercontinental Champion after defeating Bret Hart in January ‘92. He lost to belt to Roddy Piper just two days later, however, but The Mountie remained one of WWE’s most notorious villains throughout his run despite his cartoonish law enforcement persona.
