10 Ring Of Honor Matches WWE Fans Must Watch Before Kenta's Debut

9. w/Naomichi Marufuji vs. Samoa Joe & Bryan Danielson (Best In The World)

It was a dream tag team match, with KENTA teaming with his normal partner in NOAH, Naomichi Marufuji, to face the top two wrestlers in ROH, Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson. This was KENTA€™s New York City debut, and inside a packed house on Chelsea Pier, these four tore the house down. Of particular note were KENTA€™s interactions with Samoa Joe. KENTA was a junior and Joe was a heavyweight, so the dichotomy of styles between the two made for some interesting spots. Joe and KENTA personality wise were also too cool for school, so the crowd was eating up their mannerisms. KENTA scored the victory over Danielson, who at the time was the World Champion, so that was a pretty big deal. Joe, Danielson and KENTA would fight again in New York City in June at the In Your Face show in a non-title triple threat match, but the match was hampered by KENTA suffering a concussion early in the match after being slapped hard by Joe. KENTA would again pin Danielson, the reigning champ, clean with the Go 2 Sleep, setting up a title match between the two. These two matches also made ROH fans salivate for a straight-up one-on-one match between Joe and KENTA, which sadly never came to be.
