10 ROH Stars Who Made It Big In WWE
7. Kevin Owens
The Prizefighter wrestles to put food on his kids' table, and that entails a lot of moving around. Before landing in WWE, the Canadian competed in CZW, PWG, and latterly, Ring of Honor.
Owens' time in ROH, like the early part of his WWE run, was noted for his close association with Sami Zayn - aka El Generico - with whom he initially formed one of the promotion's most successful duos, holding the tag team straps for more than 200 days between 2008 and 2009.
Things, inevitably, turned sour not long after, and the pair then began a feud every bit as intense and all-consuming as the one they waged years later under the bright lights of WWE. And that included, by the way, one of the most brutal ladder matches you'll ever see at Final Battle 2012.
