10 Roster Moves WWE Must Make After SummerSlam 2017

2. Finn Bálor To SmackDown

Finn Bálor's return from long-term injury hasn't been inspiring. Forced to vacate the Universal Championship the night after winning it at SummerSlam 2016, the Irishman returned to Raw in April, and started working his way through a string of enhancement matches. He rejoined the Universal Title scene at Extreme Rules, but was choked unconscious by Samoa Joe in the night's main event, and has since spent most of his time messing around on the midcard.

Bálor has filled his past few weeks by clashing with Elias Samson and Bray Wyatt. A SummerSlam bout with 'The Eater Of Worlds' seems likely, but with the Universal Title scene seemingly a closed shop ahead of Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, there's not much left for him to fight for on Raw.

SmackDown is sorely lacking in top level babyfaces at the moment. With AJ Styles preoccupied in the United States division, WWE have nobody to turn to outside of John Cena, whose 'free agent' status could see him switch between brands whenever he pleases. Adding Bálor would give the show a main event face that the fans can genuinely believe in, and a tremendous wrestler to break the in-ring tedium of Jinder Mahal's reign.
