5. Luther Reigns

That's muscle man Luther Reigns pressing Eddie Guerrero high above his head on an episode of SmackDown in 2004. Do you remember it happening? Be honest now. Reigns was introduced as then-blue brand GM Kurt Angle's assistant in April shortly after WrestleMania XX. It was a really good spot for him, but Luther wasn't prepped to make the most of things.

Reigns' biggest claim to fame was a one-on-one pay-per-view match vs. The Undertaker at No Way Out 2005. Again, does anyone recall that happening? Late-2004 into early-2005 had some seriously forgettable stuff. Luther was just WWE's latest rent-a-musclehead push that fans didn't give a toss about.

Harsh, but definitely true.

Bruce Prichard has explained via his podcast that Reigns just didn't impress when tied to Angle. WWE tried to make something of him again once that run ended, but it wasn't to be. Luther was released from his contract in May 2005, reportedly following a creative run-in with Paul Heyman.
