5. Simon Dean

Simon Dean's (also known as Mike Bucci) wrestling career began in the early '90s, and after making a somewhat memorable mark in the original ECW as the superhero-inspired Nova, he found his way to WWE in 2002. With a fitness-expert gimmick, common sense said he was never going to be a WWE Hall of Famer, but insulting fans in the building for being out of shape generated at least some heat.

WWE never took him seriously, hence why he was repackaged as "Hollywood" Nova as part of the bWo. Later, he was transitioned back into Simon Dean, and the writing was on the wall after one match ended with him throwing up after being forced to eat 20 cheeseburgers by Bobby Lashley!

The company definitely tried to do something with him (he even managed the also forgotten Gymni for a time), but nothing really worked. From there, he moved on to the indies, but is now a licensed mortgage broker. With better creative, it's possible that Dean could have become one of those memorable Ruthless Aggression era characters, but the gimmicks just weren't strong enough.
