10 Saddest TNA Departures

4. Bobby Roode

It pays to be Roode, but TNA didnt have enough money to pay Roode. Bobby was with TNA for over 12 years, becoming one of the longest tenured wrestlers the company has ever had. We watched him grow as a wrestler along the way: From the forgettable Team Canada stable, to a lackluster singles run, to the great Beer Money tag team, and then developing into the role of Heavyweight Champion.

He was one of the most dependable wrestlers TNA has ever known. He delivered good promos, solid matches, and represented a homegrown talent who was good enough to be in WWE. As we saw other Monday Night War veterans come and go, Bobby remained, and it seemed that some day he would get his shot. Eventually he did, and he ended up holding the title longer than any wrestler in the company ever has.

When Roode TNA, it really felt like the end could be dangerously near. He may not have ever been a top, top guy in the promotion, but he was such a respectable and reliable face that Impact doesnt feel the same without him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
