10 Scariest In-Ring Wrestling Accidents

6. Mick Foley Breaks The Cell

Mick Foley left King Of The Ring 1998 with a long list of injuries, but given the bumps he took during his Hell In A Cell match with The Undertaker, it’s surprising he didn’t suffer worse. Falling from the cell and through the announce table could have killed him had he and Taker misjudged it by a matter of inches, but as dangerous as the first big spot was, at least he was prepared for it.

The action inevitably wound-up atop the cell again, and Foley took another huge bump. ‘The Deadman’ Chokeslammed him on the structure’s roof, forcing one of the panels to give way, and sending Mick tumbling all the way to the mat. It was completely unplanned, and while Mick was lucky to land on his back rather than his head, a falling steel chair added insult to injury by smashing him in the jaw, leaving one of his teeth lodged in his nose.

Foley suffered a severe concussion, dislocated shoulder, a dislocated jaw, and multiple puncture wounds from the match, but still finished it.

Both spots were absolutely terrifying from the audience’s perspective, with the second standing as one of the worst accidents in WWE history.
