SummerSlam 1995 conjures up nightmarish memories of 'King' Mabel challenging for the WWF Title and not much else. Almost mercifully though, Ramon and Michaels collided in a 'Mania X ladder rematch that stole the undercard and could easily have main-evented the entire pay-per-view.
It almost sounds heretical to say, but the sequel was maybe even better than the incredible WrestleMania clash from Madison Square Garden which preceded it. Both men were comfortable with the ladder gimmick by that point, and they were keen to put on a follow-up that positioned the actual ladder as more of a weapon they could use to belt the sh*te out of one another.
Commentators Vince McMahon and Dok Hendrix (Michael Hayes represent) seemed as enthused as the live crowd; everything came together, and the match was must-see stuff for anyone who wanted a little more post-'Mania X.
In short, you need to watch this one again.
