10 Scrapped Wrestling Moments BETTER Than What We Got!
1. Dean Ambrose Clashes With Mick Foley Instead Of Just Hovering Around In Developmental
The legendary Mick Foley recently explained how he was thinking about perhaps dusting off his boots for one final deathmatch for his 60th birthday. And who did this beloved mad man choose as potential dream opponents for that gory send-off? 'The Deathmatch King' Matt Cardona and 'The Purveyor of Violence' Jon Moxley, of course.
Had things worked out a little differently a few years back, though, the latter lunatic would have collided with the icon already in what could have been one of the coolest programs of the early 2010s.
Back when Moxley was going by the name of Dean Ambrose in WWE's developmental territory, FCW, he began targeting Foley on social media for his part in influencing the next generation to risk it all for people's entertainment. He'd even square-up to the hardcore legend during 2012's WrestleMania weekend in a video that soon went viral.
Everything was pointing to a potential and highly personal match between the two at some point, but the plans for an intriguing bout were scrapped on the back of Foley not being medically cleared to wrestle the eventual Shield man.
From here, Ambrose would just remain in the developmental system for a few more months before finally making headlines again as part of the debuting Shield at Survivor Series. And the pair would only really end up sharing the WWE screen together in a backstage skit involving Foley handing the nutty worker a barbed-wire bat on the Road to WrestleMania 32.
If Mick has it his way, however, fans may just get that long-awaited dream match in the coming years.
But please be safe, Mick.
