10 Screw Ups That Led To Huge WWE Moments
2. Hell In A Cell Gives Way
The Screw Up: Mick Foley was lucky enough to survive one fall when The Undertaker tossed him off Hell In A Cell through the announce table below at 1998's King Of The Ring. The fact he endured another drop, and one that wasn't pre-planned at that, is nothing short of remarkable.
The cage roof was never meant to give way when 'Taker 'goozled' Mick and Chokeslammed him on top of the mesh. It did though, and 'The Deadman' watched in horror as Foley crashed through the metal and landed in the ring below.
The Moment: Looking down from his lofty perch, The Undertaker genuinely believed Mick Foley might be dead. There was no way he'd been able to break his fall, one he hadn't seen coming, and 'Taker worried he may have killed someone on live pay-per-view.
The image of 'Taker staring menacingly as referees and other WWF staff checked on Mick has become stuff of legend since. The second bump (somewhat ironically) helped Foley's career soar to new heights, and their HIAC stunt show wouldn't be as unforgettable without it.
