10 Screw Ups That Led To Huge WWE Moments

3. Triple H Tears His Quadriceps

The Screw Up: Injuries are always going to p*ss wrestlers off - nobody wants to hurt their peers, and nobody wants to suffer a painful muscle tear on live TV. Unfortunately for Triple H, he experienced agony when the quadriceps muscle on his right leg detached and rolled all the way up his limb.

The quad tear occurred during an otherwise stunning tag match on the 21 May 2001 episode of Raw, and it'd change Triple H's career forever.

The Moment: 231 days later, 'The Game' returned to a booming response inside the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden on the 7 January 2002 Raw. That had to feel good for Trips; he'd missed the entire WCW 'Invasion' angle, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, and was now back doing what he loved.

Best of all, the WWF could hype his debut to feed ratings, and Trips got the ego boost of hearing around 20,000 people screaming for his comeback. This remains one of the best returns of all time, and it made up for the pain he felt seven months before.
