Admittedly, the whole Triple H and Stephanie McMahon wedding saga is well-covered ground. It's worth mentioning anyway, because WWE's ignorance towards their own storytelling has been astonishing to witness. You probably know the backstory: Trips drugged Steph and they had a Las Vegas drive-thru wedding in 1999.

By 2002, they'd pretty much divorced on screen and were at loggerheads. Then, the couple got married for real on 25 October 2003 and WWE decided to ditch everything that had come before to celebrate on episodes of Raw and SmackDown. Yeah, never mind that Trips and Steph splitting was a mainline story heading into 'Mania just the prior year, eh?

2003 has been the wedding date ever since, not '99.

Look, it's understandable that WWE want to lock the awkward drug-induced drive-thru angle away forevermore, but...they can't. It was such a massive story at the time, and came to define the start of a premier power couple in the promotion.
