7. Big Boss Man’s History

Here's one that's bugged this writer since childhood.

Big Boss Man went from evil and sadistic corrections officer to well-meaning policeman with a huge heart in the early-1990s, and it was pretty insulting. Sure, wrestling often paints in broad strokes and asks people to suspend disbelief over backstories, but this Boss Man lark was proper taking the p*ss.

People were supposed to cheer for Boss Man because he spurned Ted DiBiase's dirty money, but...he'd been openly laughing about viciously battering inmates for years before that. The only "Hard Times" in this dude's history came for the sorry prisoners he whooped just because he could. How's that for a babyface?!

In short, Nailz was right when he arrived on telly and started taking Boss Man to task for savage beatings behind bars years before. Undeterred, the WWF continued to palm that behaviour off as old news. Big Boss Man was a good guy now, folks. Not to this suspicious kid, he wasn't.

Still had the action figure though. Ahem.
