Just over two years before they'd depart for WCW and help change the industry forever, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were on the mid card of SummerSlam 1994. As Razor Ramon and Diesel respectively, they clashed for the WWF Intercontinental Title, then held by the monstrous Diesel.

Shawn Michaels was in Diesel's corner, whilst Razor had legendary NFL running back Walter Payton on his side. Regardless of any celebrity involvement, it was the actual core of the match itself that deserves to be analysed. As real-life friends away from the ring, Razor and Diesel (along with Michaels) were quite obviously loving the chance to work together on such a featured pay-per-view.

In 1994, Diesel wasn't really renowned for producing excellent in-ring work. Ramon was, but they meshed well to create one of the best matches on the show.

SummerSlam '94 is often recalled for the dire Undertaker vs. Undertaker main event and a Steel Cage classic between Bret and Owen Hart. Diesel vs. Razor doesn't get much house room in the conversation, but that doesn't mean it's not worth checking out.
