At the very first In Your House event in May, 1995, Hakushi opened the pay-per-view in fine fashion opposite Bret Hart. An unorthodox worker by WWF standards of the time, the Japanese grappler was best-suited to producing quick, showy matches that stood out. This made The 1-2-3 Kid the perfect choice as his foe for SummerSlam '95.

On a pay-per-view best remembered for a stirring Ladder Match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon, Hakushi and Kid had the task of setting the tone for the show. They did so admirably, jerking the curtain and packing a whole load of action into less than ten minutes.

In 1995, WWF fans weren't yet accustomed to this fast-paced, almost Cruiserweight style. Going back to study tape of the match, fans inside the Civic Arena were enthused by what they witnessed.

Strangely, this didn't lead to any kind of lasting legacy for the bout. It has to be considered one of the most overlooked matches in SummerSlam history, this despite it also being one of the slickest.

Kid seemed to be having a blast in there with someone as mobile as he, enjoying the fact he didn't have to play complete underdog.
