7. John Cena Will Go Part-Time/Do More Film And TV Work Outside Of WWE
The Theory: That the face of WWE for the past decade, Big Match John himself, will lessen his WWE schedule in favour of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood/mainstream entertainment. The Evidence: It should be clear to anyone that Cena is in the process of winding down his wrestling career. While it would be unfair to say that he's being 'phased-out', Reigns' Roman Empire looks set to pluck away members of the Cenation, and Cena has been demoted, shall we say, to the United States Championship level. Don't get me wrong - Cena did a great deal to enhance the prestige of that belt before he dropped it to Alberto Del Rio at Hell in a Cell in October. But, for the better part of the previous ten years, Cena has always been a World Title kind of guy. There's a reason he has fifteen of them to his name... However, Cena is now approaching forty, has a catalogue of injuries and, crucially, has started making inroads into Hollywood and the mainstream entertainment world, first with his show-stealing appearance in the hit comedy Trainwreck, then Sisters and now with the forthcoming Fox TV show American Grit. These are all fantastic opporunities for the naturally charistmatic Cena to prepare himself for life after WWE. Will It Happen: But is there such a thing as 'life after WWE' for the company's golden boy? Cena is still a cash cow and a ratings and PPV draw. He's also had one of his best in-ring years ever in 2015, so it's not like WWE are dying to see the back of him. No, WWE will try and hold onto Cena for as long as possible, and John himself has proclaimed to be WWE for life. Besides, how hypocritical would it be if he started working only Raw and PPVs in order to accomodate his filming schedule, after the level of abuse he gave The Rock for doing the same thing? Time will tell on this one, but Tinseltown is clearly smitten with Cena and it could be a lucrative second career for the Doctor of Thuganomics. He and Dwayne could be besties yet.
