10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About WWE In 2016

8. Mr. McMahon Will Come Back As A Full-Time TV Character

The Theory: That Vince McMahon, emporer of the WWE Universe, will return to WWE as a full-time on-screen character. The Evidence: Well, Vince has recently returned to WWE screens as the 'Mr. McMahon' character after a lengthy (by his standards) absence. His December 14th Raw return was designed to turn WWE's ratings woes around and, lo and behold, that's exactly what it did. Indeed, Vinnie Mac's presence (and Roman Reigns' WWE Title win) helped Raw to its strongest number in a very long time. It's clear that people still get a kick out of seeing Vince and were no doubt curious to find out what he was doing back in a WWE ring after so long away. And Vince's performance on that show was spectacular. The manaical 70-year-old was dynamite on the mic and sold Roman's Superman Punch better than two thirds of his roster could. He was great once more on the December 28th Raw and even got himself 'arrested' for Roman Reigns' benefit. So why shouldn't Vince come back on a regular basis? Will It Happen: Well, because it's not really the long-term solution, that's why. Sure, Vince dusting off the old power walk every few months is bound to pop the rating a little bit and create some short-term excitement, but in order for WWE to prosper and really start drawing better ratings more frequently, they need to invest in their up-and-coming superstars. Vince knows this, it's just that he and his writing team are having a hard time doing it (or don't think talent are ready yet). While it would be great to see Vince back for a storyline or two, having him cutting monologues to open Raw every week like it's 1999 would be a backwards step. But that doesn't mean it won't happen...
