7. Upsetting Vince McMahon

There's a saying in the WWE, "don't cross the boss". Del Rio had one infamous spat with Vince McMahon back in September 2011. Ignoring the script (which is never a good idea), Del Rio mentioned Vince McMahon's name in a segment with Triple H. This wasn't a good idea, because Vince was currently off of TV at the time, with the plan being for a surprise return in the coming weeks. The idea was for Vince to come back as a shock factor in the Triple H / Kevin Nash conspiracy angle over CM Punk at the time. As soon as Del Rio mentioned Vince's name, the chairman felt like that plan was ruined. The Mexican had gave the game away and Vince was furious. Apparently he blew up backstage, with the Wrestling Observer reporting that "he was in his worst mood ever". Del Rio ended up feeling the chairman's wrath on that one, perhaps rightfully so.
