10 Shocking Heel Turns That Rocked WWE

6. Chris Jericho Nearly Blinds Shawn Michaels

There are few better at reinventing themselves than Chris Jericho, and that's something Y2J proved all over again during his latest run. Forget the 'List Of Jericho' for a moment, because the Canadian rocked the boat big time when he smashed childhood hero Shawn Michaels through the Jeritron in 2008.

Upset that Michaels had feigned injury and lied to him during a match with Batista, Jericho turned on his boyhood idol and rag-dolled him through the glass like he meant nothing. A vicious snarl on his face, Y2J then embarked on a feud that would dominate the rest of the year with a man he once looked up to. What a marvellous heel turn.

The matches between Michaels and Jericho were top quality inside the ring, but that opening salvo from the latter brilliantly set the tone of the rivalry. Much of the focus shifted to Shawn suffering an eye injury from the glass, something that only made Jericho seem more savage.
