10 Shocking Incidents Of Unprofessional Conduct In WWE

9. Shelton Benjamin's "Mom" Claims Sexual Harrassment

Shelton Benjamin is a guy the WWE fans constantly cite as a can't-miss prospect that the company missed on. An incredible athlete who was a star NCAA wrestler before making the transition to the pros, this was a talent who could do it all in the ring. So what does WWE do? They bring in his momma. The braintrust who were booking during late 2005 thought it would be hilarious to have Benjamin go on a losing streak and then introduce his mother as an onscreen character to motivate him. The role was played by comedian Thea Vidale, a veteran of film and television. The angle and her role with WWE lasted less than three months, and she recently came out with stories about her treatment during her time with the company. In an interview with Neal Morgan, Vidale said: €œI genuinely hated that place. While I was there I was sexually harassed everyday by a perverted middle aged man that didn€™t understand what no meant. It was disgusting, I€™ll never forget the day he came into my changing area with his private parts hanging out of his pants. I made up my mind at that point I was done with that company.€ She didn't name any names and doesn't appear to be seeking any legal action so her claims must be taken at face value, but it's clear she wasn't fond of her time there and her experience was unlike any other during her extensive career as an actress.
