10 Shocking Incidents Of Unprofessional Conduct In WWE
10. The Bill DeMott Training Controversy
Let's start with the most recent, shall we? The inner workings of NXT have been big news lately among the wrestling world, with the workplace environment created by former head trainer Bill DeMott coming under fire with allegations of verbal and physical abuse of the talent under his tutelage. The complaints were nothing new, but recently departed developmental wrestler Austin Matelson (Judas Devlin in NXT) caused them to resurface when he went public with an internal memo he had written regarding DeMott's controversial training methods. Among the accusations levied at DeMott were charges of racism such as making fun of a Mexican wrestler's accent and telling an African-American to "go back to Africa", as well as tales of abuse such as grabbing Rusev by the collar and ripping off his shirt right after he'd had neck surgery, and intentionally trying to injure guys in drills. The wrestler previously known by the wittiest of monikers Hugh Morrus and Hugh G. Rection denied all the allegations while "stepping down" - corporate speak for being pressure into resigning - to avoid any further problems for the company.
