10 Shocking Moments When Wrestlers Risked Losing Their Jobs

1. The Boss' Daughter

For a professional wrestler working for Vince McMahon, there was surely no greater sin than entering into a relationship with his daughter.

Triple H not only worked his way around Vince's private disapproval, but eventually married into the family and empiric control of the industry that came with it.

Much has been written of the coming together of 'The Game' and Stephanie McMahon on-screen that ultimately led to their real-life relationship, but as revealed in Vince and Hunter's separate DVD sets, the Chairman changed tact on their union more than once during their first flushes of love. Merely keeping his job may have looked a fair trade for the future COO by that point - Triple H's initial decision to even consider dating Stephanie could have seen him kicked out of the company with immediate effect.

Though already a vital fixture on television as well as a growing influence in production meetings behind the scenes, the future 'King of Kings' was a valuable asset to Vince but the notoriously volatile McMahon might not have thought twice on firing one of his top guys for daring to defy his orders and date 'Daddy's Little Girl'. As it turned out, Vince ultimately came around to the idea, and the rest is HHHistory.
