10 Shocking Times WWE Pulled The Plug On Mega Pushes

5. Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans' bizarre main roster arrival has thus far yielded nothing outwardly awful in between the ropes outside of her uneven Royal Rumble debut, but it became more than a curio after Dave Meltzer reported the intended plan to position her against SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka at WrestleMania.

Without resorting to having her expose any further limitations, WWE barely exposed her at all. Since the shaky start, she's simply walked down the ramp and back again without so much as uttering a word or throwing a punch.

The 'Show Of Shows' clash could yet still occur, though Evans now finds herself even lower on WWE's grease-laden talent totem pole than ever before.

Moments with Heavy Machinery and other lower card comedy acts appeared intentionally reductive - not the work of an organisation looking to elevate an unknown out of nowhere. That, clearly was during January's 30-woman battle royal, and may have been her first and last shot.
