2. WWF And WCW Co-Promoted Pay Per View?
There's only ever been murmurings and it could just be an IWC urban legend, but the rumour exists that the WWF and WCW at least considered a co-promoted pay per view at various points. It doesn't make sense on the surface, until you consider just how much money it would have been worth. Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Bill Goldberg in 1999? D Generation X versus the NWO? These things would have been box office draws like nothing ever seen before. They'd have made more money than either company could have done on their own. A two million PPV buyrate was within reason. Which is why it never happened. It was one of those situations that was worth so much because it was so unlikely. Ultimately, it never even came close to happening. There was the occasional dialogue between the two empires, but a discussion like that was almost impossible. The biggest stumbling block was of course that neither company would want to look weak. How could you possibly book a loser between WCW's Goldberg and WWF's Austin?
