https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmxnXQVjaNQ In January 1998, Kane came to his estranged brother's aid during a beatdown by D-Generation X and seemingly made up with him. It was the first time since the Big Red Monster had shown the slightest hint of unity with the man he blamed for burning down their family's funeral parlor and killing their parents. With a huge WWE Championship Casket match between Undertaker and DX's Shawn Michaels booked for the Royal Rumble, and both Triple H and Chyna waiting in the wings, it was a good thing that the Phenom had someone to watch his back. Unfortunately, that someone had ulterior motives. Kane attacked Undertaker during the Casket match, indirectly helping Michaels retain the title. After the match, he trapped his brother in the casket, doused it with gasoline, then watched with father Paul Bearer while the Phenom was seemingly burned alive. As it turned out, the Dead Man had mysteriously vanished. Months later, he would return and vanquish his younger sibling in one of WrestleMania XIV's marquee bouts. But for one night in January, it appeared as though Kane had finally rid WWE of its greatest Superstar.
