10 Shocking WWE Raw Moments You Never Saw Coming

9. Steve Austin’s Beer Bash (22 March, 1999)

Raw's old pre-taped format made it tough for WWE to execute genuine surprises in the '90s. Though the spoiler-infested internet wrestling community was still nascent, WCW, at the height of the Monday Night Wars, would routinely reveal Vince McMahon's plans on their live Nitro broadcasts. This came back to bite them when thousands flocked to watch Mick Foley's spoiled WWE Title win in December 1998, but it was a largely effective (if petty) tactic for a while.

This one fortunately slipped through Eric Bischoff's net. 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin driving his beer truck through the arena, pulling out a hose, and drenching the McMahons in Coors Light is iconic. It was unlike anything the fans had ever seen before, and as a result, it'll remain one of the most replayed clips in historical Raw highlights packages for all.

Vince and Shane were ritually humiliated as part of Austin's long-running war against the WWE hierarchy, and it went over huge. Kurt Angle memorably recreated it with a milk truck a few years later, but the original visual remains etched in wrestling folklore, though it could be deemed a waste of perfectly drinkable alcohol.
