10. Jim Ross - Released On September 11, 2013
WWE.comJim Ross and WWE had a long time love/hate relationship, but it always felt that they would always be together. In 2013, the two suddenly broke up after being together for 20 years. Now, if youve watched WWE programming since Ross debuted, you know that Vince McMahon likes to bully him whenever he had the opportunity. He mocked his Bells Palsy on air, he pretended to pull a variety of objects out of his butt in a segment just a day after Ross had serious surgery, and he always seemed to find someway to humiliate him in Oklahoma. Ross, though, always took it for some reason and came back for more. It was ultimately a panel hyping a WWE videogame that finally did him in. Ross was interviewing stars like Steve Austin, Mick Foley, and Dolph Ziggler to promote SummerSlam and the upcoming game when he ran into some trouble. Ric Flair was also on the panel, and seemed to be a bit out of it. He was rumored to have been drunk, was telling rambling stories, and was talking about his recently deceased son Reid. WWE management apparently expected Ross to reel in Flair, and was livid with him afterwards. After a meeting with WWE, JR retired, but for all intents and purposes, he was forced out of the company he'd spent two decades with. While Ross may be a Hall of Famer, the main architect behind the Attitude Eras roster, and one of the greatest announcers of all time, it just didn't matter since he wasn't in McMahon's personal "clique."
