10 Most Shocking WWE Releases This Decade

4. Abraham Washington - Released On August 10, 2012

WWE.comWWE.com"Titus O'Neil is like Kobe Bryant at a hotel room in Colorado. He's unstoppable!" with those words spoken on a live mic on Raw, Abraham Washington sealed his own fate. The fact that he was released wasn€™t all that shocking in itself, as Washington never actually wrestled on the main roster. What made it shocking was that he felt it was okay to make the Kobe remark on a PG television show! Even after he was no longer employed, Washington showed no remorse. Instead, he lashed out at his former employer and blamed Linda McMahon€™s Senate campaign for the changing WWE culture. At the time of the remark, Washington was a manager of the mid-card tag team The Primetime Players. They were getting a bit of a push under his tutelage, and he had the gimmick of constantly having a live microphone on him. He gleefully cheered on his team and insulted their opponents during their matches. It was a bit grating to listen to, but someone in WWE must have liked it. Unfortunately for The Players, they were treading water after their manager€™s dismissal and never reached the top of the division. Let that be a lesson to future talent, if you€™re going to make a horribly dated and unfunny joke, at least make it a PG one. Just check out Jerry Lawler€™s joke book for some examples.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
