10 Shocking WWE Superstar Firings No One Saw Coming

3. Jim Ross

If reports are to be believed, the famously outspoken Jim Ross hasn't always shared the most cordial relationship with his former broadcast colleague Vince McMahon.

But, whatever trouble he got into, he always seemed to land on his feet. This, you suspect, was to do with the fact that he is absolutely the single best commentator WWE has had during the last twenty-five years (and firing him would mean handing the reigns to Michael Cole).

In 2013, though, semi-retired JR's appearances were infrequent, and during one of them - a 2K14 panel aimed at promoting the company's latest video game - he apparently upset a few of his bosses with some of his (allegedly drunken) remarks.

We've all been there, but Christmas work parties generally aren't going out to an audience of thousands, and given that JR was accused of insulting one of the event's sponsors, he was always in danger of losing his job.
