At one time, Randy Orton was hailed as the new face of WWE. Triple H fully endorsed him, Stephanie McMahon believed in him and he had the full support of the company's top heel faction behind him. Randy was the WWE World champion and he was on top of the world. But now? Not so much. Randy is now fighting for respect and trying to understand his place in The Authority. He is at odds with Kane and he has a younger Superstar in Seth Rollins at his heels as the next big star in the company. And the trust that Randy had from Hunter now hinges on what he can do for The Authority. The question is at what point will Randy have enough? The answer to that could be at Battleground, where he is booked in the main event match against Kane, Roman Reigns and John Cena for the WWE World title. Orton is going into this match under the gun, with opposition from Kane and the smug doubt from Triple H. Randy has the potential to walk out of Battleground as the new champion but chances are, that will not happen because of the men that he thought were his allies. So will Randy do the unthinkable and turn his back on The Authority? Will The Viper betray WWE's corporate regime and finally go his own way once again in the company? It may seem like a long shot but The Authority will eventually fall and the first step in their destruction could come thanks to Randy Orton at Battleground.
