10 Shocks We Might See At WWE Night Of Champions 2014

10. Cesaro Actually Wins And Receives A Push

Cesaro seemed to be on the fast track to the main event following Wrestlemania. He won the Andre the Giant battle royal and was put over huge in the process. He seemed to be garnering some good heat with the crowd, had an awesome moveset that people liked to see, and his Big Swing move was one of the most popular spots on the show. So, because this is WWE, they immediately de-pushed him to the bottom of the card. Cesaro is not exactly a great promo guy, so a partnership with Paul Heyman seemed to be a perfect match. Heyman has always been associated with main event guys (except Curtis Axel), so the perception of Cesaro would be greatly enhanced by Heyman's presence. This could presumably lead to a rivalry with Brock Lesnar and a good main event run for Cesaro, since he is a better worker than 90% of the roster. Then it all fell apart. WWE seemed to forget that Paul Heyman was Cesaro's manager. He just simply stopped appearing with him one week and then Cesaro claimed he was no longer a "Paul Heyman guy" with no other explanation. Sheamus, meanwhile, has been doing absolutely nothing and is locked on a midcard treadmill for which there seems to be no escape. Both guys desperately need something different to do, so why not pull the trigger and give Cesaro the US title? The title is completely meaningless anyway, so let Cesaro have some good matches on Raw and actually get some victories instead of jobbing to RVD (what was that about anyways?).
