10 Short-Lived WCW Runs You Totally Forgot About
3. Sunny
Period in WCW: 16 April 2000 to 16 May 2000
It’s hard to appreciate how popular Sunny (Tammy Lynn Sytch) was during her initial WWE run.
She was one of the first internet pin-ups, evidenced by being named AOL's most downloaded woman of 1996. She courted the mainstream at a time WWE was struggling. Nevertheless, the company’s golden girl lost her shine when she began to no show events, became entangled in a real feud with Sable, and her painkiller addiction worsened.
Sytch along with her boyfriend Chris Candido jumped to ECW, and while they were used well in the playground of the extreme, the company soured on the couple due to reported drug issues.
Sytch made her WCW debut at Spring Stampede 2000, helping Candido win the Cruiserweight Championship in a six-way match. Following this, the couple entered a brief feud with The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Iaukea and his manager Paisley (Sharmell Sullivan-Huffman). This was followed by another brief feud with Crowbar and Daffney, who took the Cruiserweight Championship during a mixed tag match on 15 May 2000 edition of Nitro.
Sytch and Candido left the company amid more innuendo and rumours relating to the couple’s drug abuse.
