To date, the shortest match the Grandest Stage of Them All has ever hosted came two years ago at WrestleMania 32, when The Rock stepped into the ring with everyone's least favourite member of the Wyatt Family after rocking up in Arlington for a last-minute cameo.

This is one of several records to be broken or equalled over recent times, alongside Cena's 16 world title wins and the whopping six-figure attendance figure achieved at this very event. It's almost as though the company is now deliberately trying to one up itself.

But there was another reason for the match being so short, namely the fact that The Rock was reportedly unable to engage in any strenuous physical activity as a result of stipulations in his various movie contracts. A Rock Bottom and pin was basically all he was allowed to do.

Few, however, complained about its abruptness at the time. Everyone in the arena (with the possible exception of Eric Rowan) was simply delighted that The Great One had graced them with his presence. They'd have taken a pre-recorded backstage segment beamed out via the Titantron if they were offered it.
