10 Shortest Retirements In WWE History
1. Mick Foley - 35 Days
Retired from February 27, 2000 to April 2, 2000
'Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy' made a major name for himself in his first Cell match opposite The Undertaker. Crowds loved him. Loved him even more so when he won the WWF Championship in one of the greatest conclusions to a Monday Night Raw main event ever. Basically, the Attitude Era would look very different without Mick.
His retirement match at No Way Out 2000 had a personal connection to the fans. They didn't want to see the folk hero go, especially to Triple H, and especially not in the match Foley helped made famous. Yet it did happen, with Foley living up to the lofty heights and crushing lows (literally), falling to 'The Game' and being forced to retire.
It was a match that was worthy of Mick's legacy...that meant absolutely nothing when Linda McMahon brought Foley back to be inserted into the main event of WrestleMania 2000, further bloating an already-bloated card. Mick would later express regret at the decision to return to the ring a mere five weeks after No Way Out.
At least he got a well-deserved WrestleMania main event. That's what I call having a nice day.
