10 Shortest Retirements In WWE History
8. Ric Flair - 601 Days
Retired March 30, 2008 to November 21, 2009
Unlike Daniel Bryan, this retirement comeback didn't have a happy ending.
Ric Flair had done it all. With 16+ recognised world championships, Royal Rumble winner, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer and 5-star classics with the likes of Vader, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat, the only thing left for the Nature Boy to do was give us a send-off to remember. And at WrestleMania XXIV, he gave us just that with a highly emotional bout against Shawn Michaels. Flair said goodbye with very real tears streaming down his face.
What a way to remember one of the greatest wrestlers to ever perform. And what a way to crush that legacy by coming out of retirement in some truly upsetting scenes.
With mounting financial debt, Flair needed to keep working and returned to the ring for a tour of Australia alongside Hulk Hogan in November 2009. Then his TNA run happened and it was bad....like really bad. He was in no state to keep performing and simply looked like an old man desperately trying to keep up with the younger talent.
