Retired from July 26, 1998 to January 16, 2000

What wrestling retirement list would be complete without Terry Funk? The man's retired so many times it's something of a running joke; Funk himself claims he's walked away around 22 times!

This however, is the only time he's officially hung his boots whilst an employee of Vince McMahon. Funk, under the moniker of Chainsaw Charlie, made his return to WWF in December 1997 (and wrestling as a whole, 3 months since retiring again!) after violent stints in Japan and ECW. He would feud and team with Cactus Jack during this time, and switched to his own name later on.

His final match during this time was at Fully Loaded: In Your House on July 26 1998 where he and Bradshaw were beaten by Faarooq & 2 Cold Scorpio. Funk would retire after this match and would remain so for all of 18 months.

He would return to tease a match against Tommy Dreamer in ECW but became ill before competing, retiring again before officially returning to the ring in WCW in January of 2000, winning their Hardcore Championship 3 times. He's retired and returned so many times since then it's difficult to pinpoint when one stint ended and another began.

Just kick your feet up, Terry. You've earned it.
