10 Shortest WrestleMania Matches Of All Time

8. Butterbean Vs. Bart Gunn - WrestleMania XV (35 Seconds)

Another non-wrestling match, this Brawl for All bout against Butterbean was Bart Gunn's prize for winning the initial Brawl for All tournament. The Brawl for All experiment is another one that is best left in the past, and all sorts of theories and rumours surround it and this match in particular. Supposedly 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams was the desired winner, which would lead into something of a push for him within the company. Talent Relations head Jim Ross had brought him in for a main event feud with Steve Austin and wanted to use the shoot-fighting tournament as a way to quickly legitimise him. They had that much faith that he'd walk it... The powers that be didn't think too much about Bart Gunn, however, who breezed past all and sundry to win the thing. As the story goes, this fight against Butterbean at WrestleMania XV was Gunn's 'punishment' for ruining the company's big plan. The entire thing was an exercise in irresponsibility on behalf of the WWF, and within 35 seconds Gunn was knocked out clean and taking a nap on the canvas. He pretty much just walked into a few shots from the Buttery one, before one massive right turned the lights off in Chez Gunn.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
