10 Shortest WrestleMania Matches Of All Time

4. Rey Mysterio Vs. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield - WrestleMania XXV (21 Seconds)

For seven whole years, the Intercontinental Championship got absolutely zero coverage at the biggest event of the year. In many ways, the constant battle to make it mean something again was made harder by this negligence. From WrestleMania X8 all the way to this match at WrestleMania XXV, the title was nowhere to be scene on the biggest show of the year. Not that its return at the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania provided any solace to fans of the secondary championship. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield defended the strap against Rey Mysterio, and despite getting an early advantage over the Master of the 619, JBL was soon falling victim to that very move and staring at the lights as his championship was taken from his grasp. All of this lasted 21 seconds. This was JBL's last wrestling match to date, as he emphatically quit after its conclusion. What a way to go.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
