10 Shortest WWE Championship Reigns Of All Time

9. 20 Days - John Cena, Mankind

What€™s worse than a 21-day reign? A 20-day reign, of course. John Cena once again features, though this stint falls in something of a grey area given the circumstances surrounding it. Cena defeated Rey Mysterio for the title, though all the while CM Punk was technically still WWE Champion. This was back during the Summer of Punk in which he supposedly left the company, resulting in two WWE Champions. Thus, in keeping with storylines the WWE do in fact recognise this as another of Cena€™s title wins. Only one other man has ever held the belt for 20 days; Mick Foley. Competing as Mankind, this was Foley€™s second reign€”not the one that many believe won the Monday Night Wars€”and came after a bizarre Empty Arena Match with the Rock during half-time of the 1999 Super Bowl. That being said, very little€”if anything€”should be considered bizarre when the topic of conversation is Mankind.
