Tamina Snuka has been around in WWE for quite a while, but they still havent full taken advantage of having a wrestler with her size, strength and legacy. Shes often used in an enforcer role, like her time with Vickie Guerrero or AJ Lee, but shes never had much of a breakout role as a solo star. That changed this year when Paige won the Divas Championship off AJ Lee, and then AJ took some time off. To keep the feud going somewhat, Paige began feuding with Tamina who was finally striking out on her own and proving what a threat she could be to the Divas division. Her solo progress was halted earlier this year when she was forced to take time off to fix the ACL and meniscus in her left knee. ACL tears are fairly common for athletes, but particularly painful to struggle through. The ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, is found inside of the knee joint itself and prevents the tibia from sliding out in front of the femur, while providing rotational stability to the knee. ACL injuries are measured in grades, and while its unclear how severe Taminas injury was, even a Grade 1 can be very painful. Research also shows that women are more susceptible to ACL tears due to differences in neuromuscular control. It was initially reported that Tamina would be out for approximately six months, so if that timetable is still accurate she should be back fairly soon.
