TNA had a good thing going. While their first few years of existence were filled with smut and sleaze, their X Division was pretty damn entertaining. It was a worthy successor to WCW's Cruiserweight Division, and delivered matches far more exciting than anything WWE had at the time.

Over the years, though, TNA neglected one of the few good things they'd created, and pushed those wrestlers aside in favor of former Monday Night War veterans. Until this past year, WWE still had no interest in that style of wrestling, so at any point in time, TNA could have easily made their product better simply by promoting a re-emphasis of the X Division, along with a great talent to build around; that role should have been filled by Ricochet.

Very few wrestlers on the planet can move in the ring the way that Ricochet does. He's a proven star who has competed in PWG, NJPW Lucha Underground, Chikara and Dragon Gate for years, and he's only 27 years-old.

Whatever the company gave Rob Van Dam from 2010 to 2013, it should have gone to Ricochet instead, and it likely would have been enough to have locked him in for many more years. That money would have been put to much better use if they had. But without any WWE experience, it's likely he was never even on TNA's radar.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
