Remember when Kevin Owens first arrived on WWE's main roster in 2015 and immediately battered John Cena? He felt like a big deal and NXT call-ups actually felt exciting back then.

No? Then you could probably use a bit of breather from WWE's oppressive approach to the blooding of new talents from the developmental brand.

It's almost become a running joke at this point just how much joy Vince McMahon seems to get from running almost every promising talent from his son-in-law's brainchild into the ground.

'Wow, you can perform superhuman-like pieces of athleticism? Let's turn you into a superhero.'

'That guy looks a bit dark and mysterious. Let's put him in a dark room and ask him to "piiiiicK a fiiiiiighT" with people.'

It's yet another wretched element of current WWE programming that has almost become acceptable.

So much so, that general fans have now begun to assume that any talent promoted from NXT will simply be shuffled into the mid-card at some point with a flaccid gimmick and this attitude has now resulted in lukewarm responses to the debuting stars who completely tore it up on the black and yellow brand.

You never know, if you took a break from the company now, by the time you come back Keith Lee could be set to usurp Brock Lesnar as the WWE Champion at WrestleMania.

Weirder things have happened.
