10 Signs Wrestling Is Heading Towards A New Golden Age

9. There Has Never Been So Much Variety

It sounds clichéd, but there truly is something for everyone in wrestling these days. No matter how niche your tastes are, you'll find a product that fits your needs, particularly if you're willing to look beyond the sport's biggest promotions.

WWE produce more than enough content to satisfy your sports entertainment needs, but there's always GFW if you want a similar style with different personnel. NXT's straightforward, logical storytelling make it a safe haven away from the main roster's inherent inanity. If cutting edge in-ring action and huge, dramatic crescendos are your thing, NJPW should be your first port of call.

Wrestling's smaller stages aren't short of variety either. PROGRESS' punk rock aesthetic and focus on long-term storylines is an intoxicating blend, Lucha Underground's mix of flippy-do wrestling and fantastical narratives is unique, while DDT continue to thrive as wrestling's premier comedy promotion (albeit with a New Japan-esque main event scene).

Looking for an ECW/Attitude Era throwback? Check ICW out. Deathmatches? BJW or CZW. Women's wrestling? Stardom or SHIMMER.

It takes a bit of searching, but if you look hard enough, you'll almost certainly find something that caters to your tastes. Modern wrestling is awesome in that regard.
