WWE's Women's Revolution has stuttered and stammered multiple times since its inception, but the company's females have never played such a prominent role. The days of the 'Diva' are long dead, and while the booking isn't always perfect, focusing on ability over aesthetics has made stars of Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, and countless others.

Charlotte and Sasha headlined Hell In A Cell 2016 - something that would've been unthinkable in a previous era. The build towards the moment wasn't perfect, but the fact that they were positioned in such a spot shows the trust that WWE have in their women's division. The landscape has changed, and while there's still plenty of room for improvement (particularly on SmackDown), the progress is undeniable.

The Mae Young Classic should produce several new WWE-ready stars, NXT's women's division has always been great, and wrestling's smaller stages have never been so well-stocked with outstanding performers. No longer the punchline it used to be, there's no reason to believe women's wrestling won't continue to grow, adapt, and evolve over the coming years, and if it continues on its current trajectory, who knows how huge it could eventually become?
