1. NXT Matches Have Become The New Yardstick
Triple H should be proud of the women in NXT. Week by week, month by month, they've began to develop a new standard that fans are unscrupulously holding Divas matches to. It all started in early 2014, when Paige and Emma came to blows over the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Arrival. That 16-minute match had everyone's eyes glued to the television. As mentioned, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch put on a similarly lengthy match this month.
Then there was the amazing Fatal 4-Way in February 2015 between Bayley, Lynch, Charlotte, and Banks that went on for nearly 20 minutes. However, it's not just the length of NXT battles that Divas matches need to emulate, but the content as well. The NXT women do moves off the top rope, on the apron, and even send each other flying into the steel ring steps sometimes. It's brutal without being over-the-top, ECW-level gory.
By all means, let a Diva use a weapon. Get some more ugly submissions in the mix that look like they really hurt. Give the Divas 10 minutes, and then 20 minutes, and look at what they can do. Allow Sara Del Rey the chance to train some Divas that need it. Repackage Eva Marie, don't waste Charlotte's talents, and let Divas matches be more about skill than sex and they could become some of the best battles on any WWE card.
