10 Signs WWE's Brand Split Just Isn't Working
6. Lack Of Genuinely Exciting Returns
When the brand split was first announced, all sorts of articles started popping up pondering who WWE would bring back in order to shore up the rosters on both Raw and SmackDown. Names like John Morrison, MVP, and even Kurt Angle were thrown around, each one adding more excitement to the idea.
Exactly none of those men have returned. Shelton Benjamin was signed, before then going down to an injury that will keep him on the shelf for some time. Benjamin would have been an asset to SmackDown Live, and the former United States and Tag-Team Champion seems like a top star next to some who have made a comeback.
The likes of Jinder Mahal and Curt Hawkins just haven't been enough to elicit genuine thrills from those watching. The only other major return is Goldberg, although it seems like the former WCW World Champ will only stick around for a few matches at best, possibly before being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Where are all those names who were supposed to come back and add some much-needed star power to the roster?
