Rewind to WrestleMania 32, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch were tearing the house down in a Triple Threat encounter designed to crown the new WWE Women's Champion. Clearly the most accomplished females on the main roster, the trio delivered in a big way on the largest stage.

Analyse the present day and it's still true that Charlotte, Banks, and Lynch are the best female performers on the main roster. Recently, they have been joined by Bayley. As good as she is, it'll take time before she becomes established on Raw.

Although there are other women helping to pad things out, the women's roster just wasn't deep enough to thrive upon being split in half.

On Raw, there are only nine female wrestlers, one of which (Paige) is currently serving a suspension and another (Emma) who hasn't even been featured since the WWE Draft. Over on the SmackDown side of things, the talent pool is even thinner. The blue brand only houses seven females, and champion Becky Lynch has been injured for the past few weeks.

WWE could have done with consolidating all of those women onto one show, rather than spreading them thinly across both.
