10 Simple Ideas From The Past That Would Save WWE In The Present

9. One Champion

Up until the introduction of the WCW title into the fold, the WWE Championship was a prize that the toughest and most well-known superstars would fight, bleed and claw their way to having draped over their shoulder. It made you the top dog, and turned you into the face of a company that made millions out of the fact.

Nowadays, though, having two men's titles and two women's titles - not to mention two sets of tag belts - massively dilutes the stature of the gold. Not only that, but can you honestly see Hulk Hogan existing in a company where there was someone on par with him? Or Stone Cold Steve Austin having the success he did if another guy had an equivalent strap too?

The separation of the championship titles and their respective lineage not only makes the stakes lower, but it is also desperately confusing; which belt did Sammartino hold? Which one did Ron Simmons win? Is Alundra Blayze an ancestor to the Raw or the SmackDown Women’s Championship? My brain hurts.

Unite the titles. Unite the brands. The revolution starts here, wrestling fans.
